1883
Johan Egeberg Mellbye received a rather unusual confirmation present: Grefsheim.
The gift came from his godfather and great-uncle, district judge Johan Egeberg, who owned the farm.
Johan would later take over the farm and make Grefsheim his home. He later became a government minister and for many years led the Norwegian Farmers' Union.
A confirmation present of a rather rare kind.
