1871
Ernst Robarth Dalin Norgrenn was born at Grefsheim in 1839. His father was Haagen Norgreen, the lieutenant who owned the farm and was known for his unusual strength.
Ernst chose to become an architect and trained in Karlsruhe and Berlin. He designed the new Bragernes Church in Drammen, completed in 1871.
After a period of poor health he travelled to Egypt. There he found work as an architect with the general staff and was commissioned to restore buildings for the Khedive, Egypt's ruler.
He later returned home and was commissioned to design Sandvikskirken in Bergen.
He died in 1880, only 41 years old, before that last church was finished.
