1854
The garden at Grefsheim has roots going back to the mid-1700s. In front of the main house lay an elaborate garden with symmetrical beds, winding gravel paths and a round central bed, laid out after the Baroque-inspired ideals of the day.
In 1854 the surveyor Fr. Julin drew a detailed map of the garden – probably the Swede Fredrik Julin, born in Stockholm in 1822.
Much has changed since then. Trees have grown large and parts of the garden have disappeared. But the old lines can still be traced in the ground, and historical photographs show how it once looked.
