1960
In 1960 gardener O. Stenseth at Mellbyes Planteskole at Grefsheim discovered a new variant of a rose.
It had orange-pink flowers with a yellow centre and was later named «Emelie», after Emelie Mellbye.
The rose became part of the nursery's own range.
