When Grefsheim became the King's

1599

Gørvel Fadersdotter inherited large estates from some of Norway's most powerful noble families. Among them was Grefsheim, which through inheritance and dispute had passed on in the family after Knut Alvsson.

Gørvel lived most of her life in Sweden, Denmark and Scania.

She transferred her Norwegian lands to the Danish King in four stages between 1574 and 1599, in return for compensation in Scania.

Grefsheim passed in the last transfer, to Christian IV in 1599. The farm became Crown land and was placed under the Hamar estate.

Gørvel died in 1605, six years after the last transfer.
